DAY-BY-DAY EXPEDITION GUIDE

Kruger Cape Town Itinerary

An expert-guided, 8-day conservation and wildlife journey through roaring waterfalls, monumental granite hills, and wild elephant corridors.

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg & Soweto Tour

Morning/Afternoon: Touch down at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Transfer to your lodge (Airport Game Lodge or similar) to check in and freshen up.
Afternoon:  Head out for a cultural excursion to Soweto Village. Explore historical landmarks such as Vilakazi Street, Nelson Mandela’s former home, and Hector Pieterson Memorial.
Evening:  Enjoy a welcome dinner back at the lodge or a local venue.

  • Accommodation:

Morning: Depart Johannesburg for the scenic drive east toward Kruger National Park.
Afternoon: Check into Nkambeni Safari Lodge (or similar). Board an open 4×4 safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive in Kruger to spot elephants, lions, and rhinos.
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner under the African stars.

Full Day: Take a day trip along the famous Panorama Route. Take in sights like Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondavels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and God’s Window.
Evening: Return to Khambeni Safari Lodge for evening relaxation and dinner

  • Nkhambeni Safari Lodge

Full Day: Embark on a full-day game drive through Kruger National Park. Accompanied by an experienced guide, track the Big Five and observe the park’s wildlife and birdlife.
Evening: Gather for dinner at the lodge.

  • Intimate encounter with resident black & white rhinos

Morning: Check out and transfer back to Johannesburg Airport (O.R. Tambo).
Afternoon: Board a domestic flight to Cape Town (airfare excluded). Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, transfer to the Town House Hotel in the city center.
Evening:  Enjoy a free evening to explore the local dining scene.

Full Day:  Set out on a full-day coastal tour around the Cape Peninsula. Highlights include driving along Chapman’s Peak Drive, visiting the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, and stopping by Boulders Beach to see the African penguin colony.
Evening: Return to the hotel; dinner at your leisure.

  • Drive

Morning: Take a city tour covering historical landmarks, the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, and optionally taking the cable car up Table Mountain (weather permitting).
Afternoon: Head to the nearby Cape Winelands (such as Stellenbosch or Constantia) for a cellar tour and wine tasting.
Evening: Final farewell dinner in the city

Morning:** Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight home.
